Yes, it’s true: gamers do exist in Utah. Specifically I’m speaking about role-playing gamers (are there any other kind?). If you’re reading this there’s a good chance you’re a gamer too! Luckily I have some resources to share with you.

Looking For A Group?

My gaming group and I are always keeping an eye out for others. Having gone through this spiel several times I thought it’d just be easier to provide this information in one spot.

We’re a small, mature, intimate group of friends. We have no fancy name, membership dues, or anything else like that. We simply hang out, play games, and have a good time. We emphasize different play styles and games, role-playing, and just being friends. You don’t necessarily have to be experienced, just genuinely interested in gaming on a regular basis. This is a commitment, so no flakes, please.

There will be an informal “interview” at a friendly place — typically Hastur to play a quick tabletop game or two — to make sure you are compatible and someone we want to let into our homes and hang out with. You’ll notice that I haven’t mentioned any games in this posting…we look for compatibility first, specifics second.

Not to put too fine of a point on it, but we’re fairly selective. That may sound snobbish, but we turn away people not because our gaming interests don’t intersect but because we don’t think they’d be compatible personalities. Ditto if you don’t like what you see; it’s nothing personal.
